Privacy Policy
ChartLens has no accounts and no tracking. It generates an anonymous identifier on your device, stores the analyses you run against it, and deletes your uploaded chart images once an analysis resolves or after 30 days at the latest. There is no advertising SDK, no third-party analytics and no data sold to anyone.

Who we are
ChartLens ("we", "us") provides an educational iOS application that analyses trading chart images. Contact: support@chartlens.app.
What we collect
An anonymous device identifier
On first launch the app generates a random identifier and a device key, stored in your device keychain. They are not derived from your name, email, phone number, advertising identifier or any hardware identifier, and they cannot be linked to you by us or by anyone else. This identifier is what associates your analyses and your subscription with your device.
Chart images you submit
When you analyse a photo or screenshot, the image is uploaded to private storage and sent to our analysis provider. It is deleted once the analysis resolves, and unconditionally after 30 days. We retain the text result of the analysis and, where applicable, a small thumbnail.
Only submit images you are comfortable sharing. A screenshot showing an account balance or a broker account number is not something we want.
Analysis records
The result of each analysis, the asset and timeframe if identified, and the outcome once scored. If you use the risk-confirm step, the account size and risk percentage you entered are stored against that analysis so your own record is meaningful.
Purchase status
Subscription status is managed by RevenueCat and Apple. We receive whether an entitlement is active, which product, and when it expires. We never receive your payment details — Apple does not share them with developers.
Product analytics
We record which screens and actions are used (for example, "an analysis was requested", "the paywall was viewed"), keyed only to the anonymous identifier. This uses our own database. There is no third-party analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no cross-app tracking and therefore no App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Crash reports
Crashes are reported to Sentry to help us fix them. Personally identifying information is disabled, and chart images are never attached.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, we store a push token issued by Apple via Expo. Turning notifications off in the app clears it.
What we do not collect
- Your name, email address, phone number or postal address.
- Your advertising identifier (IDFA), or any cross-app or cross-site tracking.
- Precise location.
- Contacts, calendar, health data, or any photo other than the ones you explicitly choose to analyse.
- Credentials for any exchange or broker. The app cannot connect to one.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of processors, each for one purpose:
- Supabase — database, storage and server functions.
- Our AI analysis provider — receives the chart image and returns the analysis. Which provider is in use is recorded on each analysis.
- RevenueCat and Apple — subscription management and payment.
- Sentry — crash reporting.
- Expo and Apple — push notification delivery.
- Binance and CoinGecko — market data. These receive requests for public price data and nothing about you.
We do not sell data, and we do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Uploaded chart images | Until the analysis resolves, or 30 days — whichever comes first |
| Analysis results and outcomes | Until you delete your data |
| Anonymous identifier | Until you delete your data or uninstall and clear the keychain |
| Analytics events | Until you delete your data |
| Crash reports | Per Sentry’s retention, currently 90 days |
Deleting everything
Settings → Delete my data. This removes your analyses, outcomes, uploaded images, credits and analytics events from our servers, and clears the identifier from your device. It cannot be undone, and it does not cancel a subscription — do that in your Apple ID settings.
Because there are no accounts, we cannot identify you to fulfil a request by email. The in-app control is the mechanism.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, export or erase personal data. The in-app delete covers erasure immediately. For anything else, email support@chartlens.app — though note that without an account we may be unable to link a request to a device, which is a direct consequence of collecting so little.
Children
ChartLens is not intended for anyone under 17 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date. Because the policy is written from the implementation rather than from a template, a change to the app’s data handling and a change to this page happen in the same release.
